This time, I want to introduce someone very special in his life, who taught and guided Sayyid deeply about Islam.
When Sayyid was just a kid, like 4-6 years old, he was already diving into religious studies, memorizing the Quran, horseback riding, and even learning martial arts. His family made sure he got those noble and aristocrate values right from the start.
Sayyid is seriously a genius, mashaAllah.
Unlike us, he didn’t go through school the usual way. He kept skipping grades because he was just too smart. He blitzed through elementary school in three years, high school in two, and then wrapped up university in just one year!
I’m totally blown away, subhanaAllah.
As a teen, Sayyid got into zikr gatherings, Sufism, and zawiyah while he was in France. That’s where he met his beloved Sheikh.
So, let's get to know more about his beloved Sheikh, who has shaped, guided, and nurtured his spirituality, always standing by his side.

Our honorable Sheikhna Moulay Tuhami Ghitawi Alawi el Hasani, may Allah bless him and have mercy on him.
After the demise of his father, Sidi Mohammed, the responsibility of managing his affair was assumed by his grandfather, the Guardian Saint, Sheikh Sidi Mohammed ibn Arabi ibn Sidi Ali ibn Sidi Hamadi, may Allah have mercy on him.
Sheikhna Moulay Tuhami played varied roles in the service of Islam, scholarship and the greater Islamic Community (Ummah) at the National and International arena,in the span of his life time.
In 1987, with the permission of his Sheikh, he initiated a construction of the Quranic school Malik ibn Anas in his hometown. This school was inaugurated in year 1990, attracting aspiring seekers of religious scholarship across the African Continents to it, hosting and producing successive groups of Imams, Qur’an memorizers, and teachers.
He was also appointed as a leader of the Moussawiya Al-Kirzazia Sufi order in Ougadougou. He became a member of the Higher Islamic Council appointed by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika. In 2014, Sheikhna Moulay Tuhami was elected as the Head of Rabitah Ulama Algeria.
He was one of the most wise figures in spiritual diplomacy. During a complex crisis in Mali 2013, he played an important role in fostering peace (peacemaker) during that turbulent time.
Sheikhna Moulay Tuhami involved actively in national and international and religious organizations, with his tremendous written works, including ‘The Great Illumination in Remembering the Virtues and Deeds of Sheikh Sidi Mohammed ibn Al-Kabir,’ ‘The Precious Treasures Book and Wise High Judgments,’ and many more.
Sheikh Moulay Tuhami Ghitawi ibn Sidi Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, forgive him and reward him with the best rewards.

Moulay Tuhami received a lot of honors from other respected figures. One of his colleague, Sheikh Sidi El-Haj Ahmed Khalili, described him as "Sheikh of Education".
“O visitor towards the noble, luminous one, settle down in these lands and ascend
To the son of noble and dignified lineages, leaders of guided paths
Indeed, he is our beloved, sincere in affection
Honorable, esteemed, descended from the heavens to the loftiest heights
His nature is generosity, his manners are nobility
His hand is like morning dew, flowing like waves
He has a praiseworthy biography, and his qualities
Elevate him, as do his circumstances, to the highest levels
Compassionate, benevolent, possessing abundant blessings
He extends to those in need and the seekers of refuge
Until the end of this magnificent poem that encompassed his virtues and attributes”

“When we mention Sheikh Moulay El-Tahami, the generous-hearted from the distinguished
The noblest of men to Hassan Sharif Al-Tafilali
Representing all the nobles of the zawiyas from Shanqiti to Aabani and Sali
And from Arwan towards Tuat, exalting in succession
And in the arms of the International Sufi Conference at the University of Adrar, the poet Amina Hamdi included in a long poem describing those present:
So our Sheikh El-Tahami is the greatest example for us, he is giving and his every burden
It was narrated by our uncle, Major Sidi Mohammed Miloud bin Sidi Moussa Al-Yemrady, that he said, "Sheikh Moulay El-Tahami was chosen by the Diwan's people to be among those who turned in the correct direction". And he asked me to be patient at the Sheikh Moulay El-Tahami School, saying, "Be patient, Muhammad, as your goodness is from the affairs of the world and the hereafter at the Sheikh Moulay El-Tahami School".
And Sheikh El-Toumi of Algeria said to me, "Sheikh Moulay El-Tahami is a mobile zawiyah, wherever he is, his zawiyah is with him, and people are his dependents“

MashaAllah. Speechless! How fortunate to learn and sit with renowned scholars in Africa! It's an incredible opportunity for Sayyid, mashaAllah.
Sheikh Moulay Tuhami mentored Sayyid for 7 years, really deepening Sayyid’s understanding of Islam. He taught him how to apply religious principles in a modern way, handling today’s legal and ethical challenges like a pro.
Sheikh Moulay Tuhami was also a big deal in spiritual diplomacy during the 2013 Mali crisis. He used his wisdom to promote peace during those crazy times.
You should totally google and read the Mali Conflict to see how intense it was.
Cool thing is, Sayyid Muhammad Amin was right there with Sheikh Moulay Tuhami, working to keep the peace and reduce violence in Mali.
No wonder Sayyid is so good at this spiritual diplomacy stuff.
The guidance from Sheikh Moulay Al Hamid Al Hasani made Sayyid into an amazing leader with some serious skills, mashaAllah.
Big shoutout to Sayyid for being a modern and Western Islamic model, spreading moderate Islam with the character of the Prophet Muhammad ï·º.
